Wholesale Moisture Sensitive Cobalt free Humidity Indicator Cards
Humidity indicator cards allow for a quick and visual check of the humidity level in an enclosed environment without the need to open the environment.
1.What Are Humidity indicator cards?
Humidity indicator card (HIC) is a card on which a moisture-sensitive chemical is impregnated such that it will change color when the indicated relative humidity is exceeded.
This item is an inexpensive way to quantify relative humidity levels inside sealed packaging. They are available in many configurations and used in many applications, especially semiconductor. The most common humidity indicator cards change color from blue (less than indicated RH level) to pink (greater than indicated RH level).
1)The HIC with cobalt(II) chloride base:
change color from blue to pink.
2)The HIC without cobalt(II) chloride base:
Environment friendly, change color from brown to blue, some change color from yellow to blue or from blue to red.

2.How Humidity indicator cards Work?
Humidity indicator cards are impregnated with a solution of cobalt chloride that has been carefully mixed to change color from blue through various shades of magenta – red, to a pink. These cards are not precision indicators. However, they are very good at telling you the maximum possible humidity in a container.
For example if all of the dots are deep blue on a card which is a 10%- 60% card than you can be assured that the humidity in that container is below 10%. This is very important for some products and household items because as long as the humidity is below 40%, basic corrosion (rust) will not occur.
3.Humidity indicator cards Applications?
All sophisticated electronics: video cameras, computers, SLR cameras, sophisticated instruments etc. enjoy a much longer and more reliable life if they are maintained at a very low relative humidity.
